As of Cluey version 3.17 you can import your own map layers



WHY

Local map layers come in handy. The two most mentioned situations are

  • Orientation: what is the legal protection status of the land at my current location? Who owns this land? Etc.
  • Monitoring: (re)visit places to assess their status. 


HOW - loading the map layer

  1. Prepare your map layer in geojson format.
  2. Store the file on your phone
  3. Open the ... More menu in Cluey (picture below: red arrow)
  4. Select Manage map layers
  5. Hit the plus-button to access the files on your phone
  6. Select the map layer of your choice


After the map layer shows up in your list, you can delete it, or change its name, by clicking the three dots


HOW - displaying the map layer

  1. Select the Map menu (picture below: blue arrow)
  2. Click on the map-icon in the upper-left corner
  3. Select (or de-select) the map layer (picture below: yellow arrow)
  4. Click on the map-icon again to close it
