As of Cluey version 3.17 you can import your own map layers.
WHY
Local map layers come in handy. The two most mentioned situations are
- Orientation: what is the legal protection status of the land at my current location? Who owns this land? Etc.
- Monitoring: (re)visit places to assess their status.
HOW - loading the map layer
- Prepare your map layer in geojson format.
- Store the file on your phone
- Open the ... More menu in Cluey (picture below: red arrow)
- Select Manage map layers
- Hit the plus-button to access the files on your phone
- Select the map layer of your choice
After the map layer shows up in your list, you can delete it, or change its name, by clicking the three dots
HOW - displaying the map layer
- Select the Map menu (picture below: blue arrow)
- Click on the map-icon in the upper-left corner
- Select (or de-select) the map layer (picture below: yellow arrow)
- Click on the map-icon again to close it
