GeoServer is an open-source server for sharing and publishing geospatial data. It is designed for interoperability, meaning it can read data from most major spatial data sources (such as databases, shapefiles, and raster formats) and publish them using open standards like WMS, WFS, and WCS.
GeoServer can also be integrated with popular mapping applications (e.g., Google Maps, Google Earth, Microsoft Bing Maps, MapBox) and with traditional GIS platforms such as ESRI ArcGIS and QGIS. You can find full documentation and resources on the GeoServer website.
At Sensing Clues, GeoServer is used to:
store and retrieve third-party geospatial data (map layers, satellite imagery, LiDAR data, etc.);
store and share Sensing Clues’ own information products;
make this information available to analysts (see also Analytical Toolbox), command center operators (see also Focus 360), and field officers (see also the Cluey Data Collection App).
